WC Rodeo competes in Big Spring

A pair of Weatherford College barrel racers split the event title at the Howard College Rodeo April 6-8 in Big Spring, TX.

Callie Davenport (Combine, TX) won the opening round and held on in the finals while Brogan Macy (Post, TX) came from seventh place to a short go win and a share of the event title. With one rodeo to go, Macy currently sits in third place in the regional standings. The top three in each category at the end of the season will qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo.

Martha Angelone finished second in breakaway roping after placing in both rounds. Angelone is 170 points out of a CNFR bid.

Cooper Hatley, with J.D. Domingo of South Plains College, won third place in team roping. Kelsey Espenson won tenth in barrel racing.

Garret Jacobs is only 80 points out of a tie down roping CNFR bid. Jace Davis is 105 points behind in team roping-heeling.
