WC baseball gains ground with sweep of Cisco

The Weatherford College baseball team completed a four game sweep of Cisco College with two more wins Sunday, 5-4 and 8-0 in Cisco.

That makes five wins in a row for WC (28-13 overall, 10-10 conference).

The Coyotes came from behind in game one with two runs in the top of the seventh inning. Jesse Cravy, who spends most of his time in the WC bullpen, went 3-for-3 as Weatherford’s catcher. Hunter Gieser hit another home run for the Coyotes.

Trevis Sundgren pitched a gem in the second game, allowing three hits over seven innings with no runs, one walk and eight strikeouts. Connor Emmet was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

WC is just one game behind North Central Texas College for the fourth and final postseason spot out of the NTJCAC. The Coyotes face No. 18 Grayson College Wednesday at Roger Williams Ballpark.
