WC splits with Cisco in baseball

Weatherford College and Cisco College split a conference baseball doubleheader in Cisco Sunday.

Cisco won game one 6-5. Weatherford led the game until the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Wranglers scored three runs. Cisco's Alec Carr hit a walk-off single to seal the win.

Brett Brown hit a home run for Weatherford in the top of the fifth inning.

The Coyotes won game two 7-6. Jase Lopez earned the win after four innings out of the bullpen, allowing one earned run and no walks while striking out four.

Austin Green and Jacob Guerrero hit home runs for Weatherford, each finishing the game with two RBI.

WC's overall record is 18-10 and 4-4 in conference play. Cisco is 18-6 and 3-5.

The Coyotes face No. 10 Grayson College Wednesday at Roger Williams Ballpark. The doubleheader begins at 3 p.m.
