Comeback falls short, WC drops two at Ranger

Ranger College won both games of a conference baseball doubleheader against Weatherford College at Ellis Burks Field in Ranger Wednesday, 6-0 and 5-4.

In the first game, the Rangers scored all six of their runs by the third inning. RC starter Calin Knight allowed two hits and no runs in five and a third innings, walking four and striking out nine.

WC's Kameron Weil was 2-for-4. Reliever Bristol Carson held Ranger hitless over three and two-thirds, walking one and striking out four.

After falling behind 4-0 early in game two, WC came back to score a run each in the fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings.

Green went 2-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored in the second game. Weil was 2-for-5. 

The Coyotes are 21-13 overall and 7-7 in conference play. 

WC and RC will face each other again in a doubleheader Friday at Roger Williams Ballpark. Game one begins at 1 p.m.
