Siravo throws no-hitter, WC sweeps Vernon

Weatherford College pitcher Adrian Siravo threw his first collegiate no-hitter, and the Coyotes swept Vernon College in a conference baseball doubleheader in Vernon Thursday, 2-0 and 11-2.

Siravo gave up no hits, no runs and two walks over the complete seven-inning game one, striking out nine Vernon batters. 

The right-handed freshman from New Hampshire currently ranks second in strikeouts (90) and third in wins (7) in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference. 

Hunter Rosson hit the game's only home run in the top of the second inning.

In game two, WC scored four runs in the eighth inning to run-rule the Chaparrals (19-31 overall, 7-23 NTJCAC).

Noah Boughton went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Brett Brown was 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored.

The Coyotes are 30-18 overall and 16-10 in NTJCAC play. They have won five of their last six conference games.

WC will face Vernon again Saturday at Roger Williams Ballpark in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
