Coyotes dominate Rangers
WC wins another two game sweep against conference opponent at home
The No. 22 Weatherford College baseball team continues their dominating performance against conference rivals, delivering two double-digit games ending in the run rule on Wednesday afternoon against Ranger College.
The Coyotes won 14-4 in the early window at Roger Williams Ballpark, then secured a 13-3 victory in the latter matchup. WC has won 10 of their last 12 games played, standing at 8-2 in conference games, with a 17-10 record overall.
Noah Bentley was hot on the mound for the Coyotes in game one, delivering seven strikeouts, and allowed only four runs.
Every inning WC stepped up to the plate, a runner was brought in to score, with the RBI leader, Caden Mitchell, collecting three for WC.
Game two had a similar outcome, ending after only six innings.
Jackson Irons knocked it out of the park for a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth, raising the Coyotes score into double digits.
Ty Waid led the afternoon with six RBI, sealing the double-header with a two-run shot to left field, remaining a top home run hitter in the NJCAA.
Waid currently has 13 home runs on the season, only two behind the second and third ranked home run hitters.
WC baseball will be on the road on Saturday March 21 to finish their four-game series against Ranger, with the first pitch beginning at 12 p.m.
