Weatherford College turned in a dominant day at home on Wednesday, winning both games of a baseball doubleheader against Hill College by scores of 10–7 and 12–2 at Roger Williams Ballpark.
The No. 21 Coyotes (22-10 overall, 12-2 conference) struck quickly in the opener, scoring four runs in the first inning and adding three more in the third to take an early lead. The Coyotes finished the game with 10 runs on 13 hits, including three home runs, and scored in four of the first five innings.
Hill pulled within one run midway through the game, but WC answered with two runs in the fifth and held Hill scoreless over the final two innings to secure the win. Weatherford's pitching staff limited Hill to one run after the fourth inning and avoided defensive mistakes throughout.
WC's Jake Overstreet went 4-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored. Jackson Irons hit a three-run home run.
Dylan Buechele was effective in relief, giving up one hit and one run over three innings with no walks and three strikeouts.
The Coyotes carried their momentum into game two, opening the scoring again in the first inning and building a 4–1 lead through five. WC then broke the game open with an eight‑run sixth inning, turning a close contest into a runaway.
WC finished the second game with 12 runs on 15 hits, drawing five walks and consistently applying pressure across the lineup. Hill scored once in the fourth and once in the sixth, while Weatherford's staff scattered five hits and kept traffic on the bases to a minimum.
Irons was a tough out, going 3-for-4 with another home run and three RBI.
Across the doubleheader, WC totaled 22 runs and 28 hits, committed no errors, and held Hill to two runs over the final 13 innings.
WC and Hill will play another doubleheader in Hillsboro on Saturday.
Next, the Coyotes will face No. 12 McLennan Community College in Waco on Wednesday, April 1, and in Weatherford on Friday, April 3, at noon.
