Waid named NJCAA All-American
Ninth athlete for WC earns All-American honors
Weatherford College has been recognized once again for an athlete's outstanding performance. Ty Waid of the WC baseball team was recently named to the NJCAA All-American second team as a designated hitter.
Transferring to WC from Region V rival McLennan Community College, the Texarkana native is the ninth All-American in the 2025-26 academic year for the WC Athletic Department.
Likewise, Waid continues the now four consecutive years as the fifth All-American named from the Coyote baseball team.
Robin Villeneuve and Ryne Rodriguez earned the honor in 2023, with Robert Fortenberry being named in 2024 and Evan Brandt in 2025.
As a redshirt sophomore, Waid was 7th in the nation in home runs, tying Villeneuve for the WC school record with 28.
Waid has signed to play in the SEC at the University of Missouri next year.
