Tanner Rockwell joined the Weatherford College baseball coaching staff in 2025.

Rockwell came to WC from McLennan Community College, where he led recruiting and worked with hitters. In those two years, MCC led the nation with 34 players transferring to NCAA Division I programs.

Previously, he served as head coach at Arkansas Baptist College, becoming the youngest head coach in the NJCAA. He then spent three seasons at Ouachita Baptist University as head assistant and recruiting coordinator. In his final year at OBU, the team posted its best record in seven years.

Rockwell became the first head baseball coach in the history of Southern Arkansas Tech University in 2021, building the program for its 2023 debut.

During the summers of 2022 to 2024, Rockwell was on staff with the Arkansas Sticks/Chicago White Sox scout team.

Rockwell is a native of Heber Springs, Arkansas. He finished his high school career with a .485 batting average and 27 home runs, earning all-state honors all four years.

He began his collegiate playing career at Arkansas Baptist College, leaving as the program’s all-time leader in hits, doubles, home runs, runs scored and saves.

Rockwell moved on to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, earning second team All-Sun Belt honors as a junior and first team All-Sun Belt his senior year.

Tanner lives in Weatherford with his wife, Samantha, and their service dog, Buster.
