Bio

Marlo received her B.A. in Dance from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, and her Master's Degree in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She studied with Nathalie Krassovska, the prima ballerina of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, and Glenda Norcross, the principal ballerina of The New York Baroque Dance Company.  Marlo performed as a principal dancer with the KDH Dance Company in Austin, Texas for ten years and was one of the last founding members of the company before retiring. She became the Assistant to the Director of KDH and served on the Board of Directors. Marlo was nominated by the Austin Critics Table for Best Female Dancer in Austin, Texas in 2007. Her training includes studying at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York and the American Dance Festival at Duke University from 1995-1998. Marlo has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., PS 122 in New York, The Cunningham Studio in New York, Las Vegas, and Orlando at the Kohler Tradeshow Tour, and has made a television appearance on the Deborah Duncan talk show in Houston, Texas. In 2020, Marlo was a judge at the 8 National Dance Competition in Houston, Texas, and was a guest interviewer of artists at the Austin Dance Festival in 2022. Marlo taught dance in K-12 for 15 years in the DWF area. Currently, Marlo is the director of the dance team at Weatherford College and teaches Dance Appreciation.
