WC teams defeat Rebels on the road
Weatherford College basketball teams dominated Hill College on Wednesday with the women winning 110-69 and the men winning 67-56.
Both Weatherford College basketball teams had impressive wins against Hill College on Wednesday night at the Bob Bullock Sports Center in Hillsboro.
The Lady Coyotes (8-7 overall, 1-2 in conference) won 110-69 against the Lady Rebels (3-13, 1-1).
WC made 12 of 20 three-pointers in the win. The 110 points were the most scored by WC all season.
Sophomore guard Jacque Giron and freshman guard Neso Anisiobi each put up 22 points to maintain the lead through all four quarters. Freshman guard Anja Djukic put up 16 points and freshman center Klimentina Modeva scored 11.
The WC's men's team (9-9 overall, 2-1 in conference) claimed victory over the Rebels (8-10, 1-1) winning 67-56. It was a tight race through the first half, with WC trailing by one at halftime. The Coyotes pulled ahead after the break, outscoring Hill by 12 in the second half for the win.
Sophomore guard Antwan Wilson went 10-for-18, scoring 27 points, and freshman guard Adrian Shackleton scored 14 points. Sophomore forward Handy Toussaint added 12.
Both will return to face Southwestern Christian College on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center. The women's game begins at 2 p.m. and the men at 4 p.m.
