Lady Coyotes, Coyotes beat Temple
Weatherford College's basketball teams swept Temple College Wednesday night, with the women winning 70-63 and the men prevailing 73-55.
Both Weatherford College basketball teams brought home wins from Temple College Wednesday night.
The Lady Coyotes (10-7 overall, 3-2 conference) won their third straight, 70-63.
Temple held a 48-43 lead after three quarters, but WC stormed back, outscoring the Lady Leopards 27-15 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Jacque Giron led Weatherford in scoring with 15 points. Pearson McVay added 14 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. Naomi Wilson also scored 14. Neso Anisiobi led the team in rebounds with 15, as well as 13 points.
WC moved into fourth place in the Northern Texas Junior College Conference standings, a half game behind Grayson for third.
In the men's game, the Coyotes dominated in a 73-55 win.
Adrian Shackleton led the way with 15 points and nine rebounds. Tyson Whybrew had 13 points and Antwan Wilson added 12.
Marcus-Myen King-Danchie led the team in rebounds with 11.
The Coyotes improved to 10-10 overall and 3-2 in conference, good for third place in the NTJCAC.
Both WC teams travel to Denison on Saturday to face Grayson. The Lady Coyotes take on Cisco College at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center Wednesday night at 5 p.m.
