WC basketball splits wins against Grayson
Coyotes win, Lady Coyotes fall to Vikings on the road
Both Weatherford College basketball teams traveled to Viking Gym at Grayson College on Wednesday Feb. 25. The men's team prevailed in a 74-63 victory, while the Lady Coyotes fell short in an 84-73 defeat.
The Coyotes held the lead through both halves against the Vikings, maintaining a 10-point advantage throughout the night. WC currently sits at 5-8 in conference play and a 13-16 record overall.
Keith Gillespie recorded 15 points for the black and gold, going four for five on three-pointers.
Andre Bennett scored 13 points, while providing seven assists and five rebounds.
Josiah Coleman also put up double-digits for WC, logging 12 points against Grayson.
The Lady Coyotes fought hard in their matchup against the Vikings, only trailing by one at the end of the first quarter. Grayson took the lead and eventually the win with a 15-point advantage in the second. WC now stands at 6-8 in conference and 14-11 overall.
Neso Anisiobi continues to show out for the black and gold, logging another double-double performance with a total of 30 points scored and collecting 14 rebounds.
The women's basketball team will tip off against Cisco College at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center on Saturday Feb. 28 at 2 p.m.
