Mayer named NTCJAC Player of the Year, Rennhack Coach of the Year
Coyotes dominate all‑conference and Region V honors following championship season.
WC's Michael Mayer earned Player of the Year honors. The freshman from Munich, Germany, is ranked No. 4 in the nation with a scoring average of 70.2. He won the Claud Jacobs Individual in Victoria and finished in the top three four times, including second place at the NJCAA Region V Championships.
Weatherford head coach Dave Rennhack earned the Coach of the Year Award for the second straight season. The WC alumnus is in his second year in the job, looking to another national tournament appearance after his team won the conference and regional championships.
Mayer, Tanaka Chatora and Dawson Langan were all first team all-conference selections, taking three of the four spots on the list.
Youssef El Hali earned second team all-conference honors.
Mayer, Chatora and Langan also took the top three spots on the NJCAA Region V team.
The Coyotes will compete in the NJCAA District Championship at Mission Del Lago Golf Course in San Antonio, April 27-28, before the NJCAA National Championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Kansas, May 12-15.
