Golf Coaches Association of America release All-Americans list
Following a program-best, fifth-place performance at the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, freshman Michael Mayer from Weatherford College was named a 2026 NJCAA Division I PING All-American athlete, selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Mayer was chosen as one of 10 outstanding athletes, with five named to the first and second teams, respectively.
The German native was a cornerstone to the success of the men's golf team this season, earning the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Year award.
He helped the Coyotes earn their first conference and Region V Championship titles in program history. Alongside two first-place tournament victories, Mayer placed first in the Claud Jacobs Invitational and second in the NJCAA Region V Championship, shooting one stroke behind first place.
The Weatherford College men's golf team was nationally ranked throughout the entirety of the season; the highest ranking earned was third in the nation.
