WC men’s tennis defeats Hardin-Simmons University
Coyotes defeat Cowboys on the road
The No. 10 Weatherford College men's tennis team took down Hardin-Simmons University at the Streich Tennis Center on Saturday Feb. 14, winning the day 7-0.
In doubles action for the Coyotes, Santiago Hidalgo and Matteo Cardoso faced off against HSU's Payne Smith and Gabriel Harris, winning 6-1.
Benjamin Asker and his partner Julian Blainey won 7-5 versus Brandon Curiel and Pedro Rozani, however, Maddux Foster and Kayden Lengacher from HSU defeated Pablo Pasco and Andres Serrano 6-4.
In singles, every member of the WC team won their individual matches.
Cardoso and Asker initially lost the first round of singles against their HSU counterpart, but both fought back to win their tiebreakers.
The Coyotes will travel to the University of Texas-Dallas on Saturday Feb 21 to face the Comets beginning at 1 p.m.
