The No. 5 Weatherford College men's tennis team held on to sixth place after the third day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Plano on Wednesday.

WC's Matteo Cardoso won the Flight 1 consolation semifinal over Luis Oliva of Collin College 8-4.

Andres Serrano also won a consolation semifinal, defeating Jaime Gimenez of USC-Sumter 9-7.

In doubles, Benjamin Asker and Julian Blainey beat a pair from Barton County College (Kansas) 8-1 in the Flight 3 consolation semifinal.

The tournament continues through Friday at the Marty Berryman Tennis Center.
