WC women’s team claims Reserve Champion title at FWSSR
Shane Scott takes home Men's Reserve All-Around title
The Weatherford College rodeo women's team secured the Reserve Championship title, and Shane Scott earned the Men's Reserve All-Around Champion title at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo collegiate rodeo earlier this week.
The Coyotes excelled across multiple events, highlighted by Emily Ward's dominant run in barrel racing. Ward posted a 16.70 in the finals to take first place in the round and first place overall with a cumulative time of 33.51 on two runs. Kacey Bass finished eighth.
In goat tying, Jacee Graff surged in the finals with a 6.1-second run, the fastest of the round, to finish second overall. Kinley Shook also placed for the Coyotes, finishing eighth.
Mecate Trammell took second overall in bull riding with a two-head total of 138.5, while Shane Scott finished third.
In tie-down roping, Lane Webb split first and second in the finals with an 8.3-second run, securing second place overall in the average. Hayden Stump finished 10th.
Jake Shelton placed third overall in steer wrestling with a 9.7-second total on two head.
The duo of Denton Parrish and Brock Borkman led WC in team roping with a third-place overall finish. Conley Kleinhans and Kyler Kanady (Cisco) took sixth, followed by Jett Stewart and Beldon Cox in seventh and Raid Valentine (Cisco) and Catcher Gasperson in ninth.
Jase Stout finished fifth overall in saddle bronc, followed by Shane Scott in seventh.
In breakaway roping, Gentry Goza finished fourth overall and Acey Pinkston took ninth.
Up next, the Coyotes head south to the San Antonio South Texas Collegiate Rodeo, scheduled for March 2-4.
