Jacee Graff wins goat tying, Kacey Bass takes barrel racing, as Coyotes claim the team title at Ranger College
Weatherford College captured the women's team championship at the Ranger College Rodeo this weekend, finishing first overall behind two individual event titles and several strong placings.
Jacee Graff led the way by winning goat tying with a two-round total of 12.6 seconds, while Kacey Bass claimed the barrel racing title with a combined time of 30.33 seconds. The victories provided key points as Weatherford edged the field for the team crown.
On the men's side, WC also posted a victory in team roping, as Mason Stueve teamed with Cisco College's Brit Bradford to win the event with a total time of 10.9 seconds.
Several other Coyotes earned top-five finishes. Shane Scott placed second in bull riding, while Jett Stewart and Beldon Cox finished second in team roping. Wyatt Nuce took third in bull riding, and Jace Stout added a third-place finish in saddle bronc riding.
With the result, Weatherford's women's and men's teams both sit second in the Lone Star Region standings with two rodeos remaining in the regular season.
The Coyotes will next compete at the Pecos College Rodeo, April 9–11 in Pecos, followed by the Tarleton Stampede, April 16–18 in Stephenville.
