Coyotes take the reins in round two
WC moves up the leaderboards at CNFR
Student-athletes from the Weatherford College rodeo teams took the second day of the College National Rodeo Finals competition by the horns, rising to the challenge in their respective categories.
Entering with an increased measure of determination, last season's reserve champion Jacee Graff pulled off a speedy 5.9 second run to claim the round two win in goat tying.
Mitchie Story came back with a vengeance in the saddle bronc event, finishing in second place with a score of 82.25. Likewise, Macate Trammel rose up in ranks for bull riding, placing sixth with a score of 51.50.
Jett Stewart and Belden Cox move up a position, tying for second place in team roping with a score of 5.7. Dropping from first to second with a 13.83 score, Acey Pinkston remains a leader in barrel racing.
WC is currently in first place for the women's team national championship with a 230.0 total score and sit in second place for the men's team national championship with a total score of 385.0. The Coyotes look to maintain their position throughout the remainder of the event into the championship round on Saturday June 20.
