WC softball swept by Grayson
Grayson College, ranked No. 6 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Softball Poll, swept Weatherford College at Stuart Field Saturday 6-5 and 3-1.

Weatherford's comeback attempt fell short in game one after falling behind 6-0 in the second inning. WC scored three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to lose by one.
WC starter Marcie Moss took a ball off the shin and left the game midway through the second inning. Emma Southerland scattered three hits over five and a third innings in relief, allowing no earned runs and no walks with one strikeout.
Grayson's Maci Sanders was 3-for-3 and Hailey Vess hit a home run.
Weatherford's Teoni Lamb scattered five hits over the full seven innings in game two, allowing two earned runs and one walk while striking out seven.
WC leadoff hitter Sierra Nixon went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored.
The Coyotes are 15-12 overall and 6-10 in conference play.
Weatherford will host Ranger College Tuesday at Stuart Field in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
