Bio
Chris Bartels joined the WC softball staff in 2023. In addition to his coaching duties, he coordinates recruiting for the Coyotes.
Bartels was assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain from 2022 to 2023, where he helped UARM softball team crack the national rankings for the first time in the program’s history.
He previously coached select fastpitch teams with Centex Buzz Fastpitch, Texas Glory and American Freedom. As a select coach Bartels compiled a 292-125 record. Before that, he played competitive travel softball nationally for 15 years, playing on several state championship teams.
Bartels attended Hubbard High School and is a 1988 graduate of Texas State Technical College in Waco. He served eight years in the Texas State Guard as a staff sergeant and worked 17 years in corporate America.
He has one daughter, Hanna, a current member of the Coyote softball team.
