Lady Coyotes lose conference opener

The Weatherford College Lady Coyotes basketball team dropped their conference opener to Collin College, 64-54, at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center on Wednesday night.

Facing a tough first conference game against Collin College, the Weatherford College Lady Coyote basketball team lost 64-54 at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center Wednesday night. 

WC had a 34-24 halftime lead, but Collin (10-5 overall, 1-0 conference) came back with 20 points each in the third and fourth quarters to seal the victory against the Lady Coyotes (7-6, 0-1). 

Jacque Giron led WC with 11 points and 10 assists. Naomi Wilson added 10 points and seven rebounds.   

The Lady Coyotes' next home game is Saturday, Jan. 18, versus Southwestern Christian College at 2 p.m.
