Anisiobi leads Lady Coyotes to win, Coyotes lose to Temple

Weatherford College's Neso Anisiobi poured in 20 points and brought down 16 rebounds as the Lady Coyotes beat Temple College 76-47 Wednesday night at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center.
Anisiobi, a Houston Westside High School grad, ranks fourth in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference in scoring with 15.3 points per game. Over her last three games, she has averaged 22.6 points and 15 rebounds.
The WC defense held Temple to eight and seven points in the first and second quarters, respectively. Weatherford held a 35-15 lead at halftime and never trailed in the second half.
Albane Beyaert scored 13 points off the bench and Natalia Arseniadou added 12. Anja Djukic finished with 10 assists.
WC improved to 10-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play. Temple dropped to 11-8 and 1-4.
In the men's game, the Coyotes mounted a furious comeback but ultimately fell to Temple, 84-73.
After falling behind by 20, WC cut Temple's lead to four points late in the game, but the Leopards held on for the 11-point win.
Temple hit nine three-pointers and converted 13 of 17 free throws.
Andre Bennett had a strong night scoring, leading the Coyotes with 25 points along with eight rebounds.
Josiah Coleman had 14 points and Kenji Franklin scored 11 off the bench.
WC moved to 10-11 overall and 2-3 in the NTJCAC. Temple improved to 12-9, 3-2.
WC's games against Grayson College, originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, have been moved to Monday, Feb. 2, at the Graber Center due to inclement weather.
