Volleyball ends conference season 14-0, regionals next
The No. 5 Coyotes are headed to the regional tournament on a 16-match win streak.
The Weatherford College volleyball team completed an undefeated conference schedule Saturday in Hillsboro, sweeping Hill College to finish 14-0 in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference and 27-5 overall in their final match of the regular season.
WC, ranked No. 5 in the country and NTJCAC champions for the third year in a row, will be a top seed in the Region V Tournament held Thursday through Saturday at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. The top four teams in the NTJCAC will fill a bracket along with the top four from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference.
The Coyotes will begin the double-elimination tournament Thursday at 3 p.m. in an opening round match against Frank Phillips College, the fourth seed from the WJCAC.

In Saturday's match against Hill, Weatherford won 25-20, 25-16, 25-13. Weronika Urbanska was a force for the Coyotes, turning in 17 kills and adding eight digs. Lorena Gomez had 19 assists along with Victoria Sanchez's 18. Kiana Souza had 13 digs.
Weatherford finished the regular season with 16 straight wins and 17 total sweeps. This is only the third season of intercollegiate volleyball at WC.
