Onyegwu receives second POTW recognition
Fourth week for WC volleyball honors
On September 24, freshman outside hitter Mirabel Onyegwu was named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second time for Onyegwu to receive this recognition, making it the fourth consecutive week a Weatherford College athlete has been named POTW.
Onyegwu led the Coyotes in kills in both conference sweeps against Southwestern Christian College and Collin College. Against SWCC, she hit an impressive .818 efficiency - a three-set record for WC - with nine kills on 11 attempts and zero errors. She also had 11 kills and a pair of aces against Collin. Over both matches, Onyegwu averaged 4.1 points per set and hit .436.
