Coyotes dominate McLennan in conference sweep
Led by standout performances from Beline Thibaut (13 kills), Victoria Sanchez (25 assists), and Alena Lopez (14 digs), the Coyotes now hold a 21-2 overall record and remain undefeated in conference play.
The No. 3-ranked Weatherford College volleyball team continued its dominant run through Region V play with a decisive 3-0 victory over McLennan Community College on Saturday in Waco.
The Coyotes swept the Highlanders with set scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-14, improving their overall record to 21-2 and remaining undefeated in conference play at 10-0. The win marks Weatherford's 29th consecutive conference victory.
Beline Thibaut led the offensive charge with 13 kills, while Weronika Urbanska added 10.
Setter Victoria Sanchez orchestrated the attack with 25 assists and contributed a service ace. Libero Alena Lopez anchored the defense with 14 digs and added a service ace of her own.
Weatherford's balanced performance included six service aces and 53 total digs, showcasing both offensive firepower and defensive resilience.
The Coyotes return home to the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. to face North Central Texas College.
