Coyote golf moves up the nationals leaderboard
Coyotes cut 21 strokes in Round 2 to climb into fifth place
The No. 5 Weatherford College men's golf team made a move up the leaderboard on Wednesday. The Coyotes improved by 21 strokes from Round 1 to Round 2, jumping from ninth to fifth place.
The four-round tournament runs through Friday at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas.
Nicholas Lewis had the Coyotes' best round on Wednesday at 3-under par (69). Lewis recorded five birdies, including two in the final five holes. He was tied for 17th place.
Tanaka Chatora was tied for 12th after posting an even par round of 72.
No. 1 Indian Hills (Iowa) led the tournament after two rounds. No. 2 McLennan was four strokes back, followed by No. 5 Central Alabama in third place (six back) and No. 2 Odessa in fourth (eight back). WC was 11 behind the leader.
