Weatherford College softball continued its strong run Wednesday, winning both games of a doubleheader at Hill College in Hillsboro by scores of 9–1 and 17–3 as the Coyotes extended their winning streak to six games.
Across the doubleheader, WC piled up 26 runs and 21 hits, hitting seven home runs, while outscoring Hill 26–4 as WC continued its surge in conference play.
No. 23 Weatherford improved to 23-7 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
Game 1
WC relied on power and dominant pitching in the opener, scoring in four of five innings and cruising to a 9–1 victory. The Coyotes finished with nine runs on eight hits, including three home runs, and committed no errors.
Aofia Noa went 2-for-3 with a three‑run homer, two runs scored and a stolen base, while Karlie Landrum delivered a two‑run home run and added a sacrifice fly. Janae Trojacek contributed a two‑run homer, and Rian Coon doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. Joni Jackson was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk.
In the circle, Sarah Hanf (8–3) was dominant, allowing just one hit and one run over five innings while striking out 11. Hanf faced 19 batters and limited Hill to one extra‑base runner.
Game 2
The second game turned into an offensive showcase for the Coyotes. WC scored four runs in the first inning, added two more in the second, and broke the game open with a nine‑run fifth inning to secure a 17–3 win.
Weatherford totaled 17 runs on 13 hits, including four home runs. Coon went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI, while Casidy Victorino and Karlie Landrum each drove in three runs. Alex Graham scored four runs, hit a home run and drove in two, and Aundrea Thompson homered, doubled and finished with two RBI. Joni Jackson added a solo home run and walked twice.
Kamryn Mears (9–3) earned the win after working 3 1/3 innings, and Sidney Hamilton closed the game with 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief.
WC will host Hill at Stuart Field Saturday in a noon doubleheader.
