McLennan Community College
The No. 21 Weatherford College softball team hosted No. 5 McLennan Community College on Tuesday at Stuart Field, where the Highlassies swept the Coyotes.
WC was defeated 11-1 in game one and 3-2 in game two. They currently stand at 25-9 overall, with a 9-5 record in conference.
The early matchup ended in a double-digit victory for MCC (26-6 overall, 10-0 in conference) due in part by a six RBI inning in the top of the second. The lone RBI from WC came from Aofia Noa.
Game two was a battle throughout. The High Lassie's early lead was cut short in the fourth by a clutch two RBI double from second baseman Rian Coon.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Kamryn Mears played throughout nine innings, throwing 10 strikeouts and only allowing three runs on 11 hits and walked two.
The Coyotes will travel to Waco to finish their four-game series against MCC, with first pitch at 1 p.m.
